A SIMPLE CALL TO ACTION - SB83

IT'S SIMPLE!

Call and email your state senator and let him or her know that you oppose SB83 and you hope they do too! Simple talking points are included below.

Don't know who your state senator is?
CLICK HERE TO FIND YOUR SENATOR
Please put in your complete address and scroll down to "state senator." Lankford & Inhofe are NOT your state senators.
But first, watch this epic 2-minute video from OCPAC and what they think about Senator Yen's "tricks."
Use these talking points for speaking and writing to your senator:
UPDATES
1) On Monday, February 27th, Senator Yen's bill, SB 83, was heard in the HHS Committee. However, it was not the same bill. Senator Yen completely changed the bill to read that exemptions stay, but parents must watch an educational video module before obtaining exemptions. This is being passed off as a "compromise" to the entire legislature as well as parents. We don't see it as a compromise. We call it what it is: An unnecessary barrier that adds new levels of government bureaucracy before parents can exercise their rights to exemptions! There are many problems with this bill, but most importantly, this is exactly the path that California took before their exemptions were taken away. Need I say more? It is imperative you call and write to your senator about this bill.

2) On Wednesday, March 1st, Representative Tom Gann's bill, HB 1386, the "informed consent" bill, was heard in the House Appropriations Committee. The bill failed with a 14 to 12 vote.

3) Also on Wednesday, March 1st, KOCO Channel 5's Markie Martin sat down with OVHC president, Liza Greve, and OVHC director of the Health Advisory Board, Andy Revelis, MD and listened as they explained why vaccine mandates are never a good idea. Watch this unbelievable interview here.

4) There are still some rumors circulating that OVHC is an "anti-vaccine" group who sent postcards with graphics that liken Senator Yen to a communist dictator. Please continue to remind your senator that OVHC was not responsible for such mailings and we do not approve of such tactics. Our policy has always been to stick with the issues. No personal attacks. Our statement is here.

We do not yet know when SB 83 will be heard on the Senate Floor. Please stay tuned for updates! You can also follow our public Facebook page and join us in our closed Facebook group.

PLEASE READ ENTIRE EMAIL! THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT WEEK!

Join us on Monday & Wednesday this week!
BIG things happening and we need YOU!!

BUT FIRST, have you called and emailed the Senate HHS Committee to oppose the following bills yet? All three bills are authored by Senator Yen and all three bills infringe upon parental rights!

  • SB 83 - Removes the personal and religious vaccine exemptions for daycare and school
  • SB 714 - Requires all midwives in Oklahoma to also be RN's
  • SB 747 - Makes out-of-hospital VBAC's, twin births, and breech births illegal
It's easy to call! You simply say, "I'm calling to ask that Senator ____ please oppose SB 83, SB 714, and SB 747 as all of these bills remove parental rights. It will be heard Monday in the health committee. Thank you!"

If you are a constituent, please mention that when calling. When emailing, put in the subject line "NO on SB 83" and if you are a constituent, please make sure the subject line reads "From your constituent. NO on SB 83." Senator Yen claimed this week that he has "other tricks up his sleeve" if things don't go well Monday.
Now on to the House side of things!
Have you called and emailed the House Appropriations Committee to ask that they support HB 1386?
HB 1386, the Informed Consent Bill, authored by Representative Tom Gann, will be heard in the Appropriations Committee Wednesday at 3:30 in room 206. PLEASE consider coming to the Capitol that day to support Rep. Gann and his fearless effort to support parental rights and ensure safety for Oklahoma children! It's easy for us to always be in defense mode with Senator Yen, but we have to remember to also be on the offense.
In the meantime, call and email the Appropriations Committee members and ask them to please vote YES on HB 1386. Tell them it will be heard on Wednesday.
Use this block of email for emailing the appropriations committee: leslie.osborn@okhouse.gov, kevin.wallace@okhouse.gov, john.bennett@okhouse.gov, scott.biggs@okhouse.gov, david.brumbaugh@okhouse.gov, chad.caldwell@okhouse.gov, kevin.calvey@okhouse.gov, josh.cockroft@okhouse.gov, jason.dunnington@okhouse.gov, jon.echols@okhouse.gov, katie.henke@okhouse.gov, scott.inman@okhouse.gov, jp.jordan@okhouse.gov, steve.kouplen@okhouse.gov, ben.loring@okhouse.gov, scott.martin@okhouse.gov, jason.murphey@okhouse.gov, charles.ortega@okhouse.gov, pat.ownbey@okhouse.gov,

Now back to the Senate!
One more bill needs your attention! SB 177, authored by Senator Dahm, is not yet on the Education Committee agenda. This is a very important bill and we need everyone to PLEASE DO ONE THING. Call Senator Stanislawski and ask him to PLEASE hear SB 177 in the Education Committee. (405) 521-5624
That's it! Hope to see you at the Capitol this week. Don't forget to wear your OVHC shirt! If you can't make it, don't sweat it, just make the calls and emails! THANK YOU for ANY part you play in helping to keep our kids safe and healthy! ❤️

ALERT! MONDAY! SB83!

Join us!!
View this email in your browser

Action Alert!!

If you haven't already heard, SB 83 by Senator Yen could be heard this Monday, February 20th at about 1:45-2:00 in room 535. The midwife bill (SB 747 would prohibit midwife attended VBAC's at home. This would severely limit parental choice for parents wanting a VBAC) is definitely on the agenda so it won't be a wasted trip even if SB 83 is not heard.

FOUR THINGS WE NEED FROM YOU:
1) Call and email the Senate HHS committee this weekend! If you call, leave a message. They'll get it Monday morning. Obliterate their inboxes too! Put "Vote NO SB 83" in the subject line and if you are a constituent, please include that important detail.

standridge@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5535
griffin@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5628
pittman@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5531
floyd@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5610
jech@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5545
simpson@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5607
silk@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5614
mccortney@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5541
rader@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5620
pugh@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5622
david@oksenate.gov - 405-521-5590

2) Plan to join us there for the HHS committee meeting Monday afternoon. Children are welcome, but be prepared to take them out if they get noisy. Please arrive by 1:45 and wear your OVHC shirt! If you don't have one, order by Sunday evening and include a note that you would like us to bring your shirt to the Capitol on Monday. RSVP for the HHS meeting is not required, but encouraged here.

3) Not only do we need your beautiful faces there wearing your OVHC shirt, but we need a picture of your vaccine-injured child.... We need the raw and real life stuff that we have to deal with. It will be shown to our senators and we just need your city with the picture. We could also use any video you have. We need these by Sunday afternoon so hurry! Email it to ovhcpac@gmail.com ASAP!

4) Pray Big! No SB83! ❤️ Also, a reminder no matter how you feel about Senator Yen, take the high road. We are being watched for any misstep. We have truth on our side and don't need to be disrespectful in any way. Stay humble, yet fierce! 🇺🇸 #NOSB83
