This is a slippery slope to loss of liberties and we oppose it vehemently! AND... HB 1922 - Representative Kannady's bill, which has very dangerous language allowing children under age 13 to give out-of-court testimonies in neglect cases. The bill is dangerous due to the open interpretation of the word "neglect," which could someday be used against a family who has chosen to skip certain vaccines. It could also be used to build a bigger case against parents in neglect cases for other reasons, which sets a precedence for future "unvaccinated" cases to be called neglect. The current law reads that children under age 13 can give out-of-court testimonies in ABUSE cases only, NOT neglect. This bill is very dangerous and we ask that everyone inform your state representatives today! | | We're Happy to Help! Need help getting in touch with your legislator? Let us know! | | | | | |
